- On Wednesday, March 3rd, set with in backdrop of beautiful Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia, Final Fantasy fans anxiously lined up to get their first glance of the franchises latest instalment Final Fantasy XIII. The lobby of the IMAX Theatres was transformed into a gaming paradise fit with XBOX controllers, free drinks and Domino's pizza.

Anime Review: La Corda D'oro

 La Corda D'oro is a story about Lili, the school's music fairy and his desire to encourage more people to play beautiful music. Lili needs someone to help him, thus enlists the help of Kahoko, our heroine - the only person who can see him. He gives her a magic violin which plays songs perfectly using Kahoko's heart, as she is unable to actually play it.

Ryuuji, the hero of the story, is seen as the school’s delinquent due to his intense eyes and reserved personality. He has trouble making friends and talking to girls, and therefore has not confessed his love to Minori. Minori’s best friend, Taiga, the heroine of the story is a little, fierce and outgoing girl who has a crush on Ryuuji’s friend Kitamura.

Origami Anime Night

We love all things Japanese here at Amine Sydney. So when our friend Stephy said she had a new origami app on her phone we couldn't jump faster at the chance to make paper...well everything. Below are some of the 'masterpieces' we made.

Anime Review: Spice and Wolf (Season One)

Overall thoughts: Tsundere wolf girl + witty guy = an amazing love story that will make you laugh and cry.

Lawrence, a money chasing merchant, finds a naked girl with wolf ears and a tail  in his cart. Her name is Horo, (or Holo if you watch the English version) a harvest goddess of a small village looking for a new purpose. Since the introduction of new technology Horo's village no longer needs her to give them a bountiful harvest. Feeling redundant Horo convinces Lawrence to take her with him so she can return to her home up north.

Anime Review: Gosick

Overall thoughts: Bonnets, lace, mystery and some love thrown in on the side. What more could any girl want from an anime!

This anime is set in 1924 and features Kujo, the third son of a military officer, who transfers to St. Marguerite Academy, located in a small French speaking country called Saubure. This academy has a mysterious history and is known for its legends and ghost stories. When Kujo arrives, he is labelled the “Black Reaper” due to his dark eyes and hair and the fact that he arrives in the Spring, one of the many campus legends “he who comes in the spring brings death..”

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Just to be clear - I'm not a Batman fan. I never really understood the appeal, I never read the comics and I think I've seen one movie. However, I gave Arkham Asylum a shot. Thankfully my first impressions of Batman were gravely wrong.
