What a SMASHing day!

We had high hopes for the 6th SMASH convention and let me say, it did not disappoint.

This year was extra special because we ALL managed to dress up for the event...

After last year, we decided to be smart and arrive around midday to miss the massive cues. There is nothing like 'waiting in a line' for ages that dampens your mood. Mood dampening = avoided!

There was lots to see at this year's SMASH, guest speakers, panels, games, stalls and the artists circle. We drifted past the university anime groups....

Stopped at some stalls...

Quirky Stylin' was one of my favourite stalls. It has cat ears, corsets, steam punk jewellery and TOP HATS!!!

The artists' circle was  fantastic! I love all the amazing drawings and designs people come up with.

However, the best part is definitely the Cosplay. So many people dressed up in cosplay, it was impossible to grab a picture of them all. I am amazed by the detail and effort people put into these costumes! Well done!

Take a look at some of the awesome cosplayers....

Check out the cute lolita outfit above!! See alice and the white rabbit to the left!

Us dressed up as Haruhi and Nagato from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya!

Here's our little group.

I just couldn't resist posing with the K-ON poster.
This is just an amazing anime!!!

It was a fantastic day. Many people continued to party on at Neko Nation, the unofficial afterparty of SMASH. For some pics from Neko Nation, just check out the event page: NEKO NATION SYDNEY

Check out some of our other events from earlier this year. Maybe we will see you at Supanova , Neko Nation or free comic book day next time?
