Anime Review: Toradora

Genre: Romantic comedy
Episodes: 25 + OVA
Overall thoughts:

Ryuuji, the hero of the story, is seen as the school’s delinquent due to his intense eyes and reserved personality. He has trouble making friends and talking to girls, and therefore has not confessed his love to Minori. Minori’s best friend, Taiga, the heroine of the story is a little, fierce and outgoing girl who has a crush on Ryuuji’s friend Kitamura.

You can see where this is going right? No? Well, Ryuuji and Taiga take an instant dislike to each other, but because each is trying to win over the other’s best friend, they call a truce and decide to help one another out.

And thus the adventures begin. They find themselves as neighbours in the same apartment building. Taiga lives on her own due to family reasons and therefore spends most of her time at Ryuuji’s apartment where she discovers Ryuuji’s obsession with cooking and cleaning. The more time they spend together, the more they start to become friends.

I highly recommend this anime if your into romance, comedy and a little drama thrown in for good measure. It will make you laugh, sigh and maybe cry, if not cry then feel their pain. Taiga and Ryuuji are lovable and eccentric characters.
